MARUMAN

Providing services that can make everyone creative

In 1918 (AD: 1920), the first president, Koichi Iguchi, was founded in Kanda, Tokyo, and started manufacturing sketchbooks.

All of maruman's original papers are domestically produced and there are 13 types! The reason why we can make such original paper is because we have a strong commitment to paper, technology and tradition. From writing paper that can be used with any writing instrument to drawing paper that meets various needs from children to specialists. You will surely find the right paper for your application.

maruman has a "Paper Meister" that checks the finish of the finished paper in a unique way. We use various types of writing tools and paints to check the writing comfort and the strength of the paper. It is because of these checks by human eyes and senses that the quality of maruman's paper continues to be maintained even as mechanization and mass production progress.

There are also products that ask loyal users for their opinions and make improvements, and actually make use of student feedback and questionnaire responses. There are also commercialized ideas that came up in the campaign.

Obsession with Paper

13 original papers, refined for over a century.

Maruman began with a simple goal: affordable paper for every child’s dreams. Today, we offer 13 specialized writing and drawing papers, all made in Japan. We constantly test and update our formulas against new writing tools, ensuring our paper remains the perfect match for any pen or pencil.

2. Engineered for Comfort

Detail-driven design beyond the page.

Our "coil-loop" rings prevent snagging, while durable PP covers resist water and scuffs. Precision micro-perforations ensure a clean tear every time. Every product is hand-checked by an in-house Paper Meister, ensuring that only the highest quality leaves our factory.

3. Paper with a Conscience

Protecting the forests that sustain us.

Maruman is committed to sustainability through recycled lines and green procurement. We source pulp exclusively from managed forests and utilize solar power at our facilities. By reducing CO₂ and material waste, we ensure our paper is as kind to the planet as it is to the user.
